The Beyond Essential Skills for Construction program is designed to meet the needs of the Construction sector by improving their workforce performance to create or maintain their competitive edge in the face of market uncertainties created by COVID-19 and other mitigating factors.
Each of the 13 essential skills required to work in the construction industry will be incorporated in the program with Spark Employment Services delivering five (5), including: Reading, Writing, Numeracy, Memory and Document Use. PACE's training will be focus on the remaining eight (8) essential skills including: Continuous Learning, Digital Technology, Decision Making, Job Task Planning & Organizing, Problem Solving, Oral Communication, Thinking Skills and Working with Others.
The sector-focused curriculum of the SAO Beyond Essential Skills for Construction program will be established through the advisory committee and delivered in partnership between Spark Employment Services and PACE.
